Ember thumped rather unceremoniously to the ground. Landing rather shakily with a wince. 'Maybe all that training was pushing it.' She ground her teeth ignoring the pain and smiled at her sister. "You look troubled Laz. What's wrong." She shifted the sleeping flint in her arms, Glad her tumble earlier hadn't woken him. He must have been rather exhausted by recent events.

Lazuli blinked as her sister pretty well materialized out of nowhere. The girl smiled softly at Ember's concern before tilting her head to the side to give her a once over. She was clearly exhausted, and from the looks of things she was still in pain. "It's nothing that can't be put off till later, but you're looking rather unsteady," she said, concerned.

Ember smiled a bit ironically. Laz had always been able to see through any of her lies. "I'll be fine Lazuli. I've had worse and It was worth it to see that stupid slaver dead." She pet Flint absently as his head settled smoothly against her collar. "It was a new skill and I shouldn't have pushed it so far, so soon."

"If you're certain," she said, still concerned but unwilling to push her sister further on the subject. The beginning of a memory began to filter through and absentmindedly her fingers found the amulet through her shirt. Said memory never fully formed and she let out a breath. She could remember Ember roasting him alive, but after that...she worried her bottom lip between her teeth, after that she couldn't remember, but it felt like she'd forgotten something. She felt the sudden urge to hit the man with the yellow eyes too, how strange...

Ember'd expected Laz to scold her and sighed as she let it drop. "Flint's not waking up any time soon. The guest tents are set up a little south of the main camp. We can go there... or would you rather stay with the fighters here in camp?"

"Hm..." she didn't want to impose by staying in camp, and to be perfectly frank she felt unsure here, but the calgor shoved such thoughts aside. She gave Ember another critical look. The guest tents were farther and despite her sister's assurance that she was fine Lazuli didn't want her pushing herself anymore than she already had. "I'm fine with staying in camp if you are."

Ember nodded. "My usual bunks'll be a bit snug with all four of us but it should work." She shook out her red hair. it had come loose from it's ties and was getting annoying. "Follow me." She headed off at a steady trot moving with an easy grace so as not to jostle Flint.

"Alright," she said, Lazuli chewed her bottom lip and followed after. From the corner of her eye she could see one of the strange creatures again, but ignored it to the best of her ability. She had a feeling she wouldn't be sleeping much tonight, but perhaps she was just worrying for nothing.
Her eyes suddenly caught sight of brilliant gold and her head turned to meet those irritatingly familiar eyes. There was a flash of razor sharp teeth before he all but vanished into the medical tent. Next time she saw him she was going to kick him. Even if it broke all her toes in the process.
She blinked at that, and shook her head. She really needed to calm down, these feelings weren't common for her.

Joy followed behind the two sisters. "There was a mean man that threatened Laz in the tent." She said joylessly towards Ember.

Ember's eyes flashed dangerously. "Lazuli!" She was extremely upset at having laz lie to her. "You said nothing happened!"

Lazuli looked off to the side before sighing. "I didn't think it was important enough to mention at the moment," she said, before looking towards the tent he had disappeared into without much thought. She then turned to look at Ember. "He didn't hurt me or anything like that, we just talked...and the only reason he threatened me was because I wasn't very kind to him in the first place."
She subconsciously rubbed one of her cheeks.

Ember glared at the hand on her face. "Didn't hurt you?" she demanded and began inspecting her twin for even the most insignificant injury. "And since when aren't you kind?" She held flint tighter to her hip and reached out with her free hand, placing it against her hand.

"No, not really...he just pinched my cheeks and stretched my face is all," she said and demonstrated by pulling at one side of her own face for a second, though she was far more gentle than he had been. All and all though she figured she had gotten off lightly on that one, the look in his eyes had been both priceless and terrifying for a split second there. She looked thoughtful and sheepish at the same time. "Though he only did that after I threw something at him...so really, it's my fault for being so brash, and after he'd been quite helpful too...The funny thing is that I have never felt more irritation for a being than I did with him, and for no reason as far as I could tell..."

Ember's fury was fading. She was still miffed that her sister had kept it from her but really what else could she expect from Laz. She caressed her sister's hair and sighed. "Slaver's, tracker's, and now an irritating stranger that acts too familiarly..." She smiled kind of sadly. "What to do about you..." She shook her head and walked away, gesturing that they were to follow. "At least you look like you regret your 'brash' actions." She smiled taking the sting out of her teasing words.

"Hide me in a trunk?" she joked, trying to lighten the mood. "Honestly, I'm not all that interesting, so I don't understand why people even bother looking my way."
She nodded her head at her sister's next statement, and yet she still felt the smallest hints of irritation at that man. She followed after her sister. "Yes, it was uncalled for. I should probably apologize later, if-" When, she undoubtedly will. She needed answers after all. "I run into him."
"There is more I would like to tell you about, but that can wait for morning, I think," she said, absentmindedly gripping the jewel around her neck.
