Miranda drank a pint down and slammed her cup on the table. There were shouts equal parts of enjoyment and of hatred as money was passed around. "Oh come on boys was there ever any doubt." She collected her money from the men and the occasional women around her. "No one can out drink me." She leaned in her chair counting her money. The man to the other side of her stared daggers at her. His drink was half empty and sitting off to the side unfinished. "Come on don't be such spoil sport." She reached over and slapped him in the cheek a bit. "You lost fair and square." The man dived over the table with intents un-savory. Miranda smirked throwing the man over her and landing gracefully on her feet as he fell into a heap. "Now that's no way to treat a lady." She stepped on the man heading out of the tavern and into the crisp night air. "Hard day of training today." She spoke to no one stretching her arms above her head.

Ember glared at the new girl. "I'd thought your orders were to train and leave the men's wages alone." The eight year old eyed the redheaded woman as she gently pet flint's hair. She'd earned much of her money a similar way but knew the woman was going overboard. The boy clung to Ember's leg and stared openly at the woman's hair. It was nearly the exact shade of embers. Flint had never met anyone else with hair like fire.

Miranda turned around and looked down at the small voice that was accusing her. "Ah hello there." She raised an eyebrow at the small child. "Our training regimen is finished for the day, and theres no harm in making a little money here and there." She smiled looking down at the two children. She squatted down and threw her hair over her shoulder. "Now what are two children like yourselves doing in a camp like this?" She smiled gently at the younger boy. "Hi." She waved at the boy.

flint clutched Embers leg and half hid behind her. Her hair my be like embers but strangers were still strangers. "I have business with mistress Leena." She was rather expressionless as she soothed Flint without taking her eyes off the woman. "And you've been taking more than a 'little here and there'." She let her own long red hair hide flint knowing it helped calm the smaller boy. One hand on his head and tho other resting easily on the hilt of her sword. Flints large childlike eyes were still locked on the woman's hair as he peeked through Ember's. His own golden hair falling and mixing with the red. The boy needed a trim but he hated sharp things and would avoid it until Ember said he had to.

She stood facing the child. "The small one sure is shy isn't he." Miranda kept her gentle smile directed to the boy while talking to the young girl. "You must have had your eye on someone else little miss, my taking have been minimal at best."
"It doesn't matter if you're telling the truth or not.... The little girl is to stubborn to let her mind be changed." Maim talked resting against a nearby crate. She had followed Ember back to this camp. The girl could be quite interesting. "She'll fight you to the end even if she's wrong. Silly child."

Lazuli sat on one of the other crates watching the events unfold sheepishly.

Ember glared at maim, her eyes glinting with sparks. "Maim." Ember sighed as she caught the scent of food. Flin was beginning to tremble and ember was still hurting from her fight with The slaver who had been foolish enough to try claiming Laz. "I suggest you keep to leena's law here." The girl child nodded and moved her hand off her sword. "She's famous for her cruel idea of discipline and isn't kind enough to issue more than a single warning. which you've already received." Ember nudged Flint and directed him towards the mess. "Keep your games to a minimum, this lot isn't exactly civil as it is." She turned and left grumbling about foolish humans who flitted off without seeing to his new recruits. Flint held her cloak tight in his fist and he followed behind her, keeping a curious eye on the woman with Ember's hair.
OOC: I guess visiting death really hurts... or whoever that odd woman was. Still not sure why flint is fine.

"I'll try to keep my destructive tendencies at bay." Maim smiled mischievously as the girl walked away. "Your sister really needs to keep that temper of hers at bay dear Lazuli." She turned to face the water calgor. "Something you don't share surprisingly enough."
Miranda waved goodbye to the curious boy all the while smiling. "Cute kid." She turned her attention to the peculiar little girl with the scars and the quite one sitting on the crates. "What are kids doing in a rebel camp?" Her attention was more focused on the quite one. "Hi there, my name is Miranda." She spoke evenly and happily to the child. She was used to kids, there were a bunch of homeless children she had taken care of in Nimbas.

"Ah, well that's Ember for you," Lazuli said shyly as she watched her sister walk off with Flint. "I wouldn't change a thing about her, but I guess we really are like fire and water when it comes to personality."
"Hello, my name is Lazuli," she said, waving a little. "As for what we're doing here, well, I'm sticking with my sister."

"The little fire cracker is a worker for the leader of this camp." Maim went back to resting against the crate. Joy had been asleep for quite some time. She must have been exhausted from their little trip. "Our dear Lazuli is nothing like her sister."
Miranda eyed the girl with scars. "Most girls tend to be different at your age. And may I ask your name little one."
"I am not a child, and no you may not." Maim closed her eyes and went back to rest.
"Your little entourage sure isn't the happiest bunch are they." She spoke to Lazuli.

Lazuli looked sheepishly at Maim before looking back at Miranda. "Quirky is how I'd put it," Lazuli said with a small smile.

Ember pouted as she sat down in the mess. Flint squeezed in next to her and remained as eerily quiet as usual. The rebels were tired and grumbled as they ate not looking forward to night workouts.

"I'm sure the two of you are rather hungry, how about we all get some food." Miranda offered to show them to the mess. "The men in this men can be an awful bunch. I'll make sure they leave you alone as you eat." She smiled to the young blue haired child. "I'll even help you little one." She spoke to the one currently resting at the crate.
'Child you may have control, I no longer desire it.' Maim closed her eyes and felt herself sink into their shared subconscious.
Joy slowly opened her eyes as if waking from a long rest. She looked from side to side and quickly spotted Lazuli. "Laz!" She ran over and sat beside her. "We finally made it back to the camp, who is this?" She smiled ear to ear as she looked up at the red haired women.

Ah, food did sound good. "That sounds nice and don't worry about me, most won't even notice I'm here." And if they did give her a hard time, more than likely Ember would straighten them out whether Lazuli said anything or not.
At Joy's arrival the girl smiled gently. Though she still didn't quite understand everything that had to do with the girl and her split personality, at least Joy was friendly. Maim wasn't too bad herself, but Lazuli had a feeling she probably shouldn't mention that to either one of them. "Ah, this is Miss Miranda."

Joy smiled revealing the scarred portion of her face. "Hello." She waved and held onto Lazuli's hand. "Come one let's get some food." She begged the other girl.
She eyed the girl. 'Her whole personality just flipped around. She even sounds different.' Miranda scratched the back of her neck watching the two. "If you two are really hungry I'll show you to the mess."
