Ember steamed in her anger at the woman as she glared. She didn't like people normally and this woman had picked the wrong day to aggravate the little fire starter. Flint glared at miranda in turn angry at whatever had upset Ember. The small boy pulled on Ember's sleeve and brought the girls's attention away from woman. Ember saw her twin's expression. "Laz." She called. While Ember's moods had always been temperamental and easily shaken Lazuli was rarely visibly upset like she was now. Ember glanced around, seeing nothing out of place. "What's the matter Laz?"

"New recruit?" she wondered faintly when Miranda said she hadn't seen him before. Her eyes had wandered back to where the man had disappeared and it was clear she was lost in thought. When her sister called her name she blinked a few times and looked towards her. "Ah...nothing, there was just something about that guy...For some reason he just really irritated me."

Ember tilted her head, looking much alike to laz's confusion. "You must be tired if such a small thing gets to you." The doubt was obvious but she wouldn't press her twin further if laz didn't want to tell her. Flint didn't care about laz's moods and continued to ignore her.

"I guess so," she said sheepishly, taking a bite of her bread. Glancing over she saw something else from the corner of her eye and about choked on the bite she'd taken. It was another one of those things, but this time smaller. It was staring at her from across the room and so she turned her head, taking another bite and swallowing it with quite a bit of effort this time. To no one in particular she said, "So, erm, where are the nurses located?"

OOC: I guess if the creepy creatures are a side effect of their deathlike adventure then i'm glad Ember got saddled with the pain. somehow i don't see her taking it well... seeing ghouls and ghosts.
IC: "The big tent with the reddish signboard." She told her twin, looking really worried and confused. "Just three tents over." She pointed south east and smiled shakily. "Thata way. But we should probably eat first. before we go visit..." She eyed her pale twin. "Do you feel sick, Laz?"

OOC: Laz isn't enjoying it much herself currently ^^'
IC: "Something like that..." she said, flinching when she felt the presence draw closer. She didn't have to look over to know it had moved from its earlier position. Taking in a shuttering breath she let it out slowly. They weren't hostile so far, so that was a good thing right? Yeah. It was. However when she turned it was right there and despite herself she became startled. "Uh, excuse me. Be back in a second."
With that said she headed towards the tent her sister had pointed out. Slipping inside the water calgor sighed shakily.
"Oh, hello. May I help you?" a male voice questioned and she looked over, only to see those same yellow eyes staring at her. His face was different, attire too, but those eyes were the same. He grinned at her expression, revealing sharp teeth. "So you see it? Hm?"

Miranda finished her food just in time to hear that afternoon training had started. She stood and followed the crowd of men out into the field.
Joy, worried about Lazuli, walked away from her food unfinished without drawing attention to herself trying to follow the young water calgor. It was done easily due to her small size. She slipped easily in an out from the large crowd of soldiers. She was able to follow her easy finding her in the medic tent. There was what appeared to be a doctor standing there asking Lazuli why she was there. "So you see it? Hm?" Now that was odd, what did he mean by that. Joy stood right outside the tent waiting to see what happened next.

Yellow eyes slide towards where Joy was lazily. Even if he couldn't see her, that didn't mean he didn't know she was there and these where private matters that needed to be discussed. Gingerly he placed a hand on Lazuli's shoulder and leaned down, whispering into her ear. "We need to talk, little reindeer, but for now, take this."
Gingerly he slipped an amulet into her hands. Blinking a few times she looked down at it before looking at him questioningly.
"You'll still see them," he whispered softly. "But they won't notice you if you keep it on."

Ember sighed. She would have normally stuck to her sister stubbornly but she hurt so much worse than she should. She shook her head and pet flint's hair. "Stay near your practice logs." She told him as she stood. "I'll be running with the troops." Flint knew better than to argue but his little lip quivered. He didn't want to be separated but since his practice area was in sight of the trails he would be good. He nodded and Ember smiled. "Finish your food first." She left him and trotted after the trainees, ignoring her pains and hoping to work herself past feeling them.

He looked down at something in his pocket and grinned. "Hm, duty calls. See you later, little reindeer."
"Wait, how do you...how do you know about, well, all this?" she asked, brows furrowing as she held the amulet to her chest.
"In due time," he said, eyes twinkling with mirth. "Just be happy, girl, you're still breathing."
Without thinking, because for some reason she just kept getting angry at him she threw the amulet at his head, hitting him. Everything stilled then as he blinked slowly at her, eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he advanced on her. Grabbing her face he tugged on her cheeks until they stung.
"My, my, I wouldn't have expected that from you," he said, pulling harder until he saw tears spring up in her eyes. "How unladylike! If I weren't such a gentleman I would have beat you senseless, you know?"
She stuck her tongue out at him and his eyebrow twitched. Giving one last hard tug out of irritation he let her face go and retrieved the amulet and gave it back to her. "Moody little thing aren't you?"
Rubbing at her cheeks she slipped the amulet around her neck and under her shirt. "I want answers still."
"In due time," he repeated, amused again at her irritated look. "Just be careful. That'll fool weak creatures, but not strong ones. Also, tell your sister if she wants to feel better, she shouldn't tag along. The best she can do is bed rest, but from what I can tell that isn't going to happen."
Before she could ask anything more he slipped out the back of the tent and when she tried to follow after he was gone again. Huffing to herself she felt the amulet under her shirt and wondered faintly if it'd work. Heading back out the entrance of the tent she noticed Joy standing there and she wondered faintly how long she'd been there.

John stepped off of fleetfoot's back side. "Thank you for your assistance fleetfoot. I'm honored you gave me your help." They had returned to camp to see if Leena had any information about either this Deluge, or Roze. 'I'm sure she knows. She knows almost everything thats going on in Falmour.' He thought to himself. He walked into a nearly empty camp. "The troops must be out training."

Joy ran up to Lazuli and hugged her tightly. "Laz I'm sorry I should have done something, but he really scared me." She could feel tears running down the side of her face as she hugged the girl. "I should have got someone when he grabbed you, but I was afraid."

Fleetfoot snapped her jaws inches from the man. 'I give no favors human' She grumbled, knowing he couldn't understand but arguing anyway. She stalked away, headed back to her den and smacking john with her tail on her way out. 'Not looking forward to meeting frostfur.' She thought. The prospect of her Alfa scolding her for leaving the pups behind wasn't her idea of fun. She figured their instincts and memory would lead them home eventually.
Leena sighed as her spies informed her of John's return. "It would seem he's to be requesting new intell." Whispered the young voice of her unseen visitor. Leena nodded and signaled the spy's dismissal. "I'll have to add it to the human's tab. Or my brother's." She loved that her brother's addition was racking up so much debt in her brother's name. Leena never gave assistance freely and john's tab was linked to her dear brothers. She was still ticked that Lethe was consorting with her hated rival. 'Stupid human thief.' She thought bitterly. 'Rogue queen indeed!'
OOC: I really wonder why Leena and her royal crookedness hate each other so~

Well, there were worse things than getting your life choked out by an over exuberant and worried friend, right? Lazuli tried to return the hug, but Joy had her arms clamped to her side and she couldn't do much. At her apology the girl shook her head. "Ah, don't worry about that. He wouldn't of hurt me, or at least I don't think he would have."
Okay, maybe he wouldn't have hurt her too much, but he'd showed marvelous restraint where she hadn't. What exactly had she been thinking then? All she really knew was that she had been upset and before she knew it the amulet was out of her hand and bouncing quite nicely off of his head. She rubbed at her reddened cheeks which still stung slightly. Yeah, she'd deserved that. Couldn't even remember him, he'd been helpful, and she'd been mean to him. How strange. She should probably apologize, but had the feeling that if they did meet again she'd act the same way around him.

John stepped into Leena's tent seeing that she was waiting for him. "I'm sure you know I've been here for awhile now."
