John watched as the spirit beast landed on the small boys head. "You two make an odd couple. And no I haven't met anyone by that name." He rested against the tree trunk and slid down the side into a sitting position. "I actually came here to ask you about your spirit beast." He pointed the creature resting on his head. "Do you mind?"

Aiden shrugged. People who knew about Peanie weren't rare and he was used to their questions. "Peanie's my spirit beast. If you want to know about her ask her yourself." He reached up and nudged her soft cloud form. Peanie hummed in agreement. 'It's rude to speak of one as if their absent.' She obviously didn't like John. Though she didn't really like anyone other than Aiden.

"It's actually how you were separated..." John knew this would be a sore subject for the child, it would be for anyone who were forcefully separated. "I'm in a... situation and I need to be separated from mine." He wasn't exactly being tactful about this.

Peanie chirped in displeasure. 'My awareness didn't develop until after the separation.' She looked at Aiden. 'And we do not speak of what they did to us afterword.' She made a sound like a growl and made it clear she did not like john's topic of inquiry. Aiden was pouting. He didn't ever speak of it. "I don't think I can help." He pushed himself up in a small puff of air and landed on his feet. "It was a long time ago." The false note was apparent but so was the stubborn refusal. He scuffed his foot in the dirt and avoided John's eyes.

"Look kid, I know this isn't the most delicate of subjects." John tried pleading with the young boy. "This is a matter of life and death here. My spirit beast is taking over my body, and I can't control it for much longer." He had no idea if the drugs the woman from the wind territories gave him would be a lasting solution.

Aiden stared at the human. "You have a spirit beast?" He was interested but not sure he wanted to help. He looked up at Peanie. 'Truly?' He asked the bird silently. 'is it possible?' Peanie looked at the human and fluttered slowly over to him. 'I sense something off about him.' She hovered over him and thought it over. 'I can't tell if he lies but if he were fully human that fall before would have been... damaging.' There was hint of annoyance in her tone. As if she'd have preferred him to have been damaged. Aiden was bouncing in excitement again. "A human with a spirit beast. I'm guessing your human spirit doesn't have the strength to maintain such a bond. He looked at his spirit beast with adoration. "I can't imagine not having P. with me." His eyes looked pained as he recalled that he could do much more than imagine it.

"The point is I need a way of separating from it. Like I said I'm losing control to him." Well he was in control of it as long as he kept his anger under control.

Aiden grimaced. 'Peanie lets go...' He didn't like this human at all. 'this is no fun anymore.' He hopped and hovered catching peanie and petting her soft cloud form in comfort. Peanie snuggled into his hold. 'Looking for your Slate is more fun than this.' Peanie agreed and she hated Aiden's obsession with the girl Slate.

John's ears twitched at the sound of rushing wind. "Get down!" He jumped pushing Aiden and himself to the ground. Several arrows flew through the air where Aiden had once been standing. "Looks like those earth calgor's caught sight of you."

The arrows stopped midair as Aiden was giggling. They flipped and soared, returning to the calgors who had released them. The wind lifted John off of Aiden and the boy shot up and away. 'And now we've been noticed.' Peanie scolded both boy and man. 'Now we must teach these men a lesson.' She didn't sound particularly upset at the idea as she shifted forms again. She screeched and a flash of blue light blinded their attackers. "Aiden laughed and hung upside down for a moment. "It wasn't my fault, P. Blame the human." He grinned and watched the men who'd been training dive blindly out of the arrows paths.

"Feh, what was I worried about? Looks like the brat has everything under control," Slate said as she looked out from behind an outcropping of rocks. Two satchels of groceries and other items hung on either side of the earth calgor.
She'd come up here in hopes of working off some steam before going home. She hadn't expected to see Aiden and Peanie up here. Though it was no surprise that he was living dangerously, as usual. Little snot...
She watched as the calgors dived out of the way of the arrows and cocked an eyebrow. Really? She was really beginning to lose faith in the defense forces if they couldn't even defect silly arrows. In fact, one was coming her way. With minimal effort she sent a small rock upwards and deflected the arrow easily.
OOC: Decided to throw Slate in here out of nowhere. Also, why do I imagine her with a English accent?

Aiden's eyes widened as he caught sight of bags and long hair. "Slate!!!" He called in excited joy and flew straight to her, happily ignoring the human. He was beaming as he skidded to a halt mid-air before her. "Where-wha-how- oh I missed Slate!" He gave up trying to make sense and hugged the older girl. Pianie really did hiss this time. She hated Slate if only for the fact Aidsen liked her.
Fleetfoot's patience was nearing an end. The pups had decided the ones with the 'funny sticks' as they referred to them as, were interesting and were now yipping and teasing the earthen warriors. The older wolf scoffed at the men's confusion and ordered the pups away before the calgors fear forced them to attack the wolf pups that were nearly as large as the calgors themselves.

John walked over to the two children. "So you were the girl he was asking about. Nice to meet you, my name is John Clarke."

Aw crap. The earthen calgor tolerated being squeezed by the exuberant boy, and simply ignored the irritated puffball. "Well, I live here, and this is where I train when I have free time. So what are you doing here?"
In actuality she trained a bit further down the mountain side, but she couldn't help but hear the commotion. The girl glanced over at the human and wasn't the slightest bit surprised to hear that Aiden had been talking about her. For some reason the kid had a strange obsession with her..."Ah, I'm Slate. Nice to meet you too, I guess."
Ah, socially awkward response. Well, it was better than telling him to go drown in a creek, right?

Aiden rolled his eyes at john and went right back to chattering at Slate. "I ran away again. Came to see Slate; been looking everywhere!" He put his fingers to his lips and let out a whistle loud and high pitched enough to make one wince in pain. Soon after Inrill cried out as she soared around to meet with them. "Inrill will be glad to see you too. Peanie! be nice!" He was scolding her for the angry and violent thoughts sworming their shared consciousness. Peanie hissed and landed on Aiden's head. 'I was only imagining, Aiden.' She complained as she sighed. Aiden winced at the images in Peanie's thoughts. "Violent bird." He told his spirit beast lovingly.
