Geralt sighed heavily as he walked through the fast emptiness of Noi plains, why he decided that this was the place for work he'll never remember. He stopped and sat down against a large tree and opened a book "At least I'll get peace and quiet while I read..." He began his book again, it was a fantasy book about a man facing down something called a dragon and killing it with only his hands. Geralt loved these kinds of books, where the hero faces impossible odds and there is a bit of a side romance, but not too much drama. He loved the idea of a poetic ending, but he couldn't bring himself to giving any of his opponents a 'poetic' ending. Not even Havel, who he was sure was now extremely pi**ed for leaving him unconscious in the Badlands. Geralt flipped another page as he continued his story, he loved reading, but he didn't love all books some he actually found quite atrocious. Like books about science, it didn't bother him because it was hard to understand, it was all really simple to him, but he just didn't like certain ideas of science. The only science books he read though were Human books he had got his hands on and considering how humans use and abuse technology Geralt didn't want that becoming him. He stopped reading to shudder at the idea of using any weapon other than a blade. He didn't know how long he had been reading, but when he realized it was getting darker he looked up from his book. "Hey you're blocking my-" Geralt stopped himself as he realized the sun was fixing to set "light..." he finished his sentence. He sighed heavily "I'd rather not be out here in the dark" he muttered to himself and decided to make a fire for the night.

Geralt awoke the next morning with embers of the fire still burning, he had a terrible dream last night about Her. He shook his head slightly as he woke up and pushed the memory back into his mind. He didn't want something like that weighing on him as he was travelling, he packed up his things and started across the plains again. He wasn't reading this time as he had finished his book, in fact he used it for kindling the fire. He didn't like having something he didn't need anymore weighing him down, not that it mattered it was really a personal thing. He was walking along and admiring the beauty that was the Noi Plains, though it wasn't beautiful in a traditional sense, it more or less had an aesthetic beauty that reminded him of home. Whatever he would classify as 'home'. Along the way he met several other Calgor's that he traded with and at least earned some money, he shrugged at the jingle of coin in his hand. "It might get me a room for the night, if I ever find another town..." He put the money away and kept along on his journey, but something was bugging him. A feeling like someone or something was following him. He kept up his normal pace, but when he stopped he heard a slight shuffle of footsteps behind him. "I know you're there, maybe you should just show yourself instead of-" he was saying this and turning around to find that not just a couple, but a lot of people were following him. The unsavory kind as he would put it. "I'm just going out on a limb here and say that you followed me from the Badlands, am I right?"

The leader of this group of 'bandits' as Geralt would put it stepped up a little "Yes and after that little tussle with that Earth Calgor, which by the way cost me and my associates a lot of money, we figured we'd show you how you should really fight". The man had a twisted look on his face while the others behind him had creepy grins and shouts of agreement were heard around. The bandit pulled his knife "What do you say? You versus all twenty five of us!" The man licked his blade in a sickening manner making Geralt want to puke.

"Do I really have a choice in this?" Geralt muttered before pulling his blade, this is not good, there are too many of them for me to handle without getting hit a few times. Damn, times like this I wish I were still in a group... Geralt popped his neck and shoulders "If you want to do this then I should warn you that I won't hold back against such an...ignorant opponent". The bandits all laughed at him in unison, the leader spoke up again.

"Keh heh heh heh... Do you honestly believe you can kill all of us just by yourself? You must be out of your mind, get him!" the bandit screeched and all the men followed with their blades and weapons pulled. Geralt stood back and pulled his blade back slightly It's gonna take a miracle to survive this... With that final thought Geralt charged after them and met them in the middle.

Another one fell and this time they all stood around breathing heavily, Geralt looked around and realized that only seven had fallen. It was a little bit of a relief that they all weren't skilled combatants and that most of them probably never actually faced someone in combat. He went over his own body, he had caught a few clips from their blades, but nothing too deep or too long. He was bleeding, but he didn't panic, that was the first step towards death. He needed to keep his heart rate down and keep focused, he was just happy his face or head didn't get clipped. He looked back to the rest of them, they were all exhausted and wouldn't be as fast as they were before, but he needed to keep them on their toes. He gritted his teeth and started after them again, avoiding attacks the best he could and swiping at them. He was intentionally missing to wear his foes down. He thought eventually they would simply collapse from exhaustion and he could get away from this. However the next blade that caught him, cut him across his shoulder. He jumped back and checked the wound, it was deeper than all the others, he started reevaluating the situation.

Even more bandits fell, but Geralt was beginning to lose his strength, he counted and now only four bandits remained, but his plan of dodging wasn't working. He had already been hit even more times and started fading mid-battle, he breathed heavily at the thought of using his abilities as he hasn't yet. He knew that if he did though it would probably drain him of the rest of his strength and he'd collapse and die here. He slightly grinned at the idea, dying alone out here in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fallen enemies. "It'd be a poetic ending..." Geralt muttered to himself, "Did you just say something...you damn fool! You're not killing anymore of us!" one of the bandits yelled over to Geralt, but he wasn't paying attention to him anymore. Geralt's thoughts were of his favorite group back in the day, but he pushed those down yet again "Can't be distracted anymore..." With that final word Geralt clenched his left hand and a massive fire covered it. The bandits were in awe of how much power he still had left and some of them had a panicked look on their face, all except for their 'leader' who had miraculously not been killed. "C'mon lads, it's four Calgor's against one. Let us show him our true power!" With that their leader showed Geralt his Earth fighting style, two others were wind, and the final one was water. He used his canteens water and turned it into tiny projectiles of needles. Geralt was unfazed by the show and lifted his hand which held the fire.

"If i'm going to die, I might as well go out in a flash" with that Geralt instead of throwing it forward slammed it into the ground causing the flames to cover him and a wide area. The bandits covered their eyes at the brightness "What does that fool think he's doing?" the head bandit looked over to his remaining men, but was shocked to see that the two wind Calgor's had died. Geralt was standing between them with his sword covered in fresh blood "A fine distraction I should say right?" Geralt smiled and started charging towards the main guy. He forgot the water Calgor, who saw Geralt headed towards his boss, launched the water needles after him. Geralt turned to see it just as they pierced his body multiple times, Geralt stopped for a second and knelt to one knee "Oh...oh I forgot about you..." The leader had a smile on his face and pulled his blade back and charged Geralt, he got within a foot of Geralt and plunged his blade down. What happened next was all slow motion to Geralt as he brought his uchigatana up and into the bandits arm causing him to drop the knife. Geralt grabbed it before it hit the ground and tossed it behind him towards the water Calgor. He caught it, but in a bad place and fell over dead from his wound. Geralt pulled the leader down to him, face to face he stared into the man's eyes. "I don't see remorse, you don't care about those men who have fallen..." Geralt looked to the ground slightly, a great sadness forming over him. "So what? It's not like they were my friends and who cares about a few dea-!" The bandit was cut off short as he felt a blade pierce his chest. Geralt looked up again and didn't say a word as he removed the blade and struggled to stand up. The bandit fell over and was dead within seconds, Geralt wiped off his blade and took two steps before collapsing onto the ground.

OOC: This next paragraph or so is basically Geralt thinking or a monologue to himself
IC: Fool, did you really think your luck would persist forever? I shouldn't have overdone it, I should've ran or at least tried hiding. I'm not as young as I used to be and I've got to remember that I don't have comrades to come and rescue me...it's just me... It's been that way for a while now, hasn't it Geralt? Ever since she fell that one day, it's just been you against the world and I think the world finally won, eh? It took the worst situation you could be in and pummeled you into submission and now look at you, weak and gasping for air.
I wander how Leon is doing...he's probably got a job now and is a high ranking official among his people...he deserves it.... As for Koda...I really don't care for him, not after what happened, not after all the blame was placed on me... Damn fool... Still I wander if he's happy, if he forgot about me and moved on to do something else, like becoming a bard like he always dreamed. Heh heh heh, that was priceless when he told us that, the look on his face was simply hilarious. The look on her face was....stunning....
Push those thoughts aside man, you gotta save your strength, all you have to do is lay here for a little bit. Think happy thoughts, think about a nice warm bed and dinner. Think about...well don't think about your teacher, but think about your mother and how she was the one you inherited powers from....nice thoughts. Think of Elizabeth, she's always been there by your side, quite literally as she is strapped to your side, where is she...? OH! There she is, right by your right hand...your right hand...there we go nice and tightly held, remember when you first saw her and how she made your eyes shine? Nice thoughts...hang on a minute, I actually think I might die here...that's a bummer really...and I didn't even get to read my last book on me...or say goodbye to the only two people who actually gave a damn about my existence...hmm kind of a pity...
Geralt closed his eyes and his world faded to black, but his heart didn't stop beating...

Jack looked on from a great distance and smiled sadistically. "This one looks fun." He watched as the last of the men he hired fell to his wounds. The man he knew as Geralt collapsed shortly after him. Jack sharpened his blades as he watched. Even at this distance he could tell the man was not dead. He could see tiny puffs of dust from where he was breathing, he could see the rise and fall of his chest as he continued to breath. "Persistent little one I see." Jack jumped down from his perch and began to walk towards the man.

Geralt breathed steadily and sharply, he grasped with his hand holding onto his sword. "Get up..." he breathed slowly, and tried rising from his pool of blood, but slipped in the sticky subtance and landed a few inches farther. All Geralt could do was roll over on his back and look up at the sky, he could've swore he saw someone, but brushed it off as a delusion.

Jack kicked the fallen man in the head when he got close enough. "Get up." He flashed a sadistic smile grabbing the man by the collar. "You are difficult to kill." His blades scrapped the side of the mans throat drawing three thin bloody lines. "You killed a lot of men today whats one more." He threw him to the ground as flames enveloped him. "My blades thirst for blood."

Geralt felt the shock of the kick to his temple and before he knew it he'd been picked up and tossed back down. Geralt let out a ragged sigh as he climbed to one knee and slowly rose to his feet. His vision was getting blury and he felt like he was going to puke. He looked at the man before him itching for a fight. Geralt felt his eye start to twitch and change, hegrabbed it and looked back to his attacker. Lowering hs hand and revealing his eye had turned and bright green like a reptiles. He only said five words "Who the Hell are you?"

Jack gave a the man a sadistic smile. "You look ready for a fight." Jack's flames grew ever brighter as he stood there. He watched his eye change hue. "Looks like I'm not the only freak in this place." He licked the mans blood from his fist blades cleaning them. "Who I am is not important."

This time Geralt let out a heavy sigh, an annoyed sigh. He breathed in deeply and closed his eyes, when he opened them his eye was back to normal. "Look, I really don't want to fight...can we do this later Mr. I'm a Cliche". He pulled his blade back and sheathed it, watching as the fire grew. Geralt looked around "Besides i'd rather fight in a place less... corpsey". Geralt breathed in heavily again "Besides, I have a couple friends heading this way, that'll be more trouble for you... So what do ya say we do this later, one on one" Geralt held is breath hopeing this would work.
