Mijo's ears were pinned back against her head and a low growl emitted from her throat as she looked at the calgor who had her master within their grasp. He'd managed to find someone who'd been willing to send the letter he'd intended for Rein, but after that was when the trouble had begun. One of the other calgors had decided that the payment her master was giving wasn't enough and when it was a battle between a human and calgor well...the odds weren't in the favor of humans. Not to mention it was a known fact that Kei was not much of a fighter in the first place.
"Oi, isn't that a criel?" one of the other clerks suddenly said and Mijo's ears perked slightly at that. "Well I'll be, I haven't seen one in ages! You've heard about them right? They're supposed to be divine creatures and died off during the first war after sacrificing themselves to save a city."
"Divine creature or no, this guy has to pay," the other calgor grumbled, pulling on her master roughly.
"Put down," she growled, having gotten better at speech during their travels, but only slightly. That caused them to blink a few times before standing up and making his way towards her.
"Why don't we take this thing as payment?"
"No!" Kei shouted, only to be silenced by the calgor who had a hold of him. She didn't give an inch and when he reached down towards her she made her move, jumping up his arm and using his height to fling herself towards the other calgor's face, making sure to kick off with extra force in attempts to knock him off balance. It worked and it wasn't long before she was soaring towards the other calgor, who could only blink in shock before getting a face full of fluff and claws. To say the very least it was probably pretty humiliating to get beat by a creature of her stature, but nobody messed with her master and got away with it. Thankfully the distraction worked and her master managed to scramble away with both her and the letter in tow.
"You two just got your asses handed to you!" a third calgor laughed, about falling out of his chair as they made their way out the door. "That'll teach ya. Wait till the boss hears what you two did to a paying customer. He'll have ya strung up for sure!"

Alandra stepped into the mailing office passing two very grumbly looking gentlemen. Her two guards made a path for the men to pass through and followed the young princess into the shop. She had intended to send a letter to her father and brother off in the wind territories. "Yes I would like to have a message delivered off to the wind territories." She asked in her light voice.

"Ah, straighten up you guys!" the third calgor said as he saw the guards enter. The calgor that got used as the little criel's scratching post wiped at his face and tried to make himself presentable, while the other stood at attention. Once the princess entered the calgor sitting behind the desk-who'd about fallen out of his chair in his fit of laughter-smiled warmly and inclined his head respectfully. "We'd be much obliged to do that for you."
Kei breathed softly from his position just outside of the door, heart pounding a mile a minute.

Alandra noticed the young boy standing outside of the door. "And that young boy, I would like to pay for his package as well." Alandra smiled cheerfully at the one behind the counter.

The man behind the counter looked dumbfounded before nodding. It was best not to stir up any trouble with the royalty. "Of course, we'll take care of him too."
He saw the looks his co-workers gave, suggesting that they really wanted to 'take care' of the human in their own way. He gave them hard looks that had them looking off the side as if the thought had never crossed their minds.
Kei sucked in a breath and slowly inched towards the counter, making sure to give a wide berth to the two calgors that hadn't been the best representations of their people. Shaking hands sat the letter onto the counter and the calgor took it.
"Don't worry kid, those guys may be dumb asses, but I'll make sure this get to where it needs to go," he whispered, giving one last sharp look at the two calgors who had, by this time, busied themselves with their actual jobs. His eyes softened as they turned back on Kei marginally. "Mail carrier's honor."

"Thank you." Alandra smiled at the man and looked over at the boy. "You look lost here, my guards can show you to where you need to go." She offered. "What's your name?"

"A-A l-little lost," he admitted looking nervously at Alandra. "I-I'm Kei, a-and y-you a-are?"
Mijo climbed atop her master's head and looked at Alandra. The fact that she had guards wasn't lost on her-or her master, she was sure-that this person was royalty. Though they'd done some research it was clear that it wasn't up to date. She was certain that her master would want to visit a library at some point to brush up on more current history. Mijo wouldn't mind learning of those things herself.

"My name is Alandra Grayson. Nice to meet you Kei." She watched as the small creature climbed untop of the boy's head. "Oh how cute." Alandra reached out to pet the small animal. "Can I pet her?" She asked.

"W-Would that b-be alright, Mijo?" he asked the criel. Her ears twitched before she nodded. This girl was being kind to her master, and that already put the small creature at ease.

Alandra ran her hands through the animals soft fur. "Ohhhh." She giggled softly petting the cute animal. "She's so soft, so her name is Mijo?" She looked back at the boy for confirmation. "It's a good name. How did you make it up for her?"

He nodded when she asked and smiled fondly at the creil. "S-She's named after a s-spring i-in my village."
It was the only thing that sustained the village. Away from the little oasis was a dry and miserable wasteland in one direction and a city full of thick smog from industry in the other direction.

"That sounds lovely." Alandra let her hand drop from the small animal. "Would you like to join me. I'm heading to the market, and I would love the company. My guards tend to get a litt gruff with the crowds and make for terrible talk." The men in question shuffled in the armor but didn't say a word to the princess. "If you're new to the city I could show you around, just to get your bearings a little."

Mijo jumped up and onto Kei's head. Hm. She liked this girl so far. In that moment she decided to speak for her master. "He...would...love to."
"M-Mijo!" Kei said, he was a nervous fool in these situations and his companion new full well he had a difficult time around women. He felt the criel patting the top of his head. "Be fine," she said with a grin and he almost questioned her before thinking it over. Okay...so long as she didn't get too close then he should be alright. He just shouldn't think about this too much.
"I-I'm rubbish c-company, but...i-if you d-don't mind t-that," he said, looking off the the side. This might be a bad learning experience for him. Plus noting that she had guards he was beginning to put the pieces together. Quite obviously she was an important person and though he was frustrated with himself for not doing more current events research this would be a good way to get to know how things were here currently.

Alandra smiled softly at the nervous boy. "No need to be nervous, I don't bite." She covered her mouth as she laughed quietly. "The market is just down the street if you want to follow."

Explaining would probably make things awkward, but if he could manage to keep his distance and not get too close then...then he should be fine. Right? He was praying to whatever deity that was currently within earshot that he didn't do something foolish. Though knowing his own track record that was a very likely outcome. Following after he managed to stutter out, "R-right...o-okay."
