"I ruined a perfectly good shirt for that blood." He took a deep drag the nicotine calming him. "You do realize that if I do have my spirit beast seperated from me I become almost useless. Considering I lose my strength and my accelerated healing."

"Ah, but it's your mind that interests me, john." She smiled kindly. "And the reduced danger to the camp would be an asset." Leena shook her head. "We have enough muscle for our goals, john. It's minds that can assess a situation and mold its outcome in our favor. such minds are hard to come by. Minds like yours and mine. Lethe is capable but rarely motivated to utilize his full potential." She smiled obviously loving her lazy brother.

"A compliment from the illustrious Leena. That's high praise indeed." He laughed for the first time in a very long time. "Not sure what I know what you see with me Leena. I don't think I command any better then the Captains I promoted. And the troops trust them, not the commanders dog." John might have just insulted himself but it was true. He did as Leena commanded and that was all he was useful for.

Leena wasn't sure about that. She sensed something kindred in john. It took someone with a strong will to suppress a beast like his and she suspected his intellect was far greater than what he seemed to rate it. "My dog is it?" She laughed "Is that your take on it of the troops?" She'd yet to hear such rumors. or maybe her girls thought it insignificant to tell her.

"That's the way I see it. Believe it or not Calgor's don't like us humans that." He took another drag out of his cigarette smoking it down to the filter. "Shocking I know." Lethe's sarcastic nature must have rubbed off on him in Nimbas. "It's just what I hear anyway. I do have friends in this camp, just few and far between. They keep me informed on the thinking of the camp. I'm surprised to know you didn't know of this. Your spies have their fingers on the pulse of this camp at all times."

"Oh, I know you're disliked. I was sure of that when I allowed Lethe to instate you." She smirked. "But you see, our goals being the unification of Falmour... well Humans should be among that peace." She laughed. "It's like exposure therapy. they'll learn to respect a human and realize that Human's can have... qualities. Qualities us Calgors generally lack." She shook her head at her species' lack of vision. "Calgors have no respect for strength. We take it for granted and thus possess little consideration for those that lack it. We're not a kind race to say the least." Leena knew of her race's cruelty and accepted that she wasn't an exception to that fact. "It's a serious shortcoming that we look down on those weaker than ourselves and posses a sense of superiority over them." She grinned. "It's a troubling disease with a difficult treatment I'm afraid." Leena eyed John. "You've already shown them you posses a strength equal and occasionally stronger than theirs. now I plan to have you demonstrate your other uses." She was completely unconcerned that she just admitted to using him. "You see we're... arrogant." She smiled totally including her self in that comment and yet not feeling any guilt. "And here I have a man who can prove to some that humans and be wiser, stronger in character, more honest, and considerate than any calgor." She smiled. "Even the idea of your future. You reject the offer of freedom given in removing that which you struggle to control because I might find you lacking afterwords?" She laughed. "Few, very few calgors would put anything above themselves or those their sworn to. Not for any reason."

"Wise words from a wise woman." He went to smoke but realized he had nothing but the filter. "I'm glad you're commanding, and not Lethe." John dropped the filter blowing the last of the smoke into the air. "What would happen to my spirit beast if I do decide to separate from it?"

Leena smirked. "I hear the child's animal remains perfectly intact. And he retains a mental link to the little bird. They even share some emotion and base senses." She shrugged. "Given his link to her is so iron clad perhaps if we don't kill your wolf you'll even retain your other perks as well." She laughed. "Won't that be interesting. You at full power without wasting energy suppressing your beast?"

"How are we sure it wouldn't rampage as soon as it's released?" He was reminded of something that Leena most likely knew already. "There was a man in Nimabs... He knew about the camp and of you and Lethe. The guard captain knows about us as well, so the councilor might retaliate for us being there. Maybe Lethe could fix things while he's there." He offered the suggestion but he didn't believe he would actually do it.

"Oh, you mean the lovely lady and the hotheaded Damion." She laughed. "They're an odd sort that lot. I believe they're friends of your bain actually." Leena wasn't concerned about them. Her spies were keeping an ear out and they had not informed The councilor or anyone else of their location. She was sure they wouldn't, though she wasn't positive about their reasoning. "My brother's quite taken with the female and if your concerned about their knowledge of us I suggest you take that up with Bain. As it is my spies will inform me if they give away our location. when they do we are prepared to vacate this site immediately."

"If you wouldn't mind I would like to have your spies keep an eye on Bain. He's a good enough kid, but trouble always finds him." He put either hand on the side of her as she sat on the desk. "If I go to find this Aiden how are you going to punish me?"

"I don't seriously intend to punish you, john. If you go I'll simply inform the camp that you were sent an a risky solo mission to contemplate your wrongdoings." Leena paused. She'd gotten a bit of Intel on Bain and the girl-child Sina. She wasn't sure she should tell John about it. "Are you concerned for your friend Bain?" She asked him testing the waters. "I know he helped you out here when you needed it. If my girls tell me he's in need, would you go to him?"

John leaned in close to her. "I helped Bain get away from his father. He's like a little brother to me. Of course I would go out of my way to help him." He was also the first calgor who showed him kindness besides Hisao's wife. "You said this Aiden was in Seaway right?"

Leena sighed. "Well yes, the noble child's there. And I suggest you leave for there immediately as well." She was obviously reluctant to tell him. "Give your men their orders and ship on out. Your friend was just abducted from Seaway last evening." She uncrossed her legs and hopped off her desk. "The girls caught the name Blight and tell me they boarded a ship. I'm not certain about their destination but I'm sure you can catch their scent if you ask around." She shuffled through her papers and handed John the translated Intel and the contact to the girl who'd supplied the information. "I'm sure my children can assist. if you like you can contact them with the instructions listed on that."

"What?" John spoke lowly. "You're just now telling me of this?" He grumbled loudly snatching the paper from her. "Who the hell is this Blight?"
