"There are reasons." She told him. She smiled "but I am not known for having a wagging tounge." She covered a yahn. "And as for war. The territories could be disuaded, but there are whispers of other forces at work." She watched as her spies silently slipped from shadow to shadow. Her pets were very well trained, not a single soldier had yet to notice one of them and the hundreds of tiny bells on their black suits and other gear had yet to ring even once. 'If only the men's training would go as well as my girls'.' She wished to herself. She'd smuggled the tree girls out of camp that morning with instructions to infiltrate the camp after sun down, tag each of the officers' tents, and meet her in her tent near the center of camp without being detected. That they'd reached this far meant their senturies were bipassed and each offer's tent thus far 'tagged' in red paint. She sighed 'granted these are girls who've been training for Twp years now, and the men are ex hosted from their first day of intense work....' she would have to seriously make these children remember why they were here.

"I expected as much. It would be foolish to give out such information to just a visitor of your camp." Bain noticed slight movement in the shadows near the tents. Moon light shone through a break in the clouds and revealed one of the disturbances in Bain's vision. "I'm guessing you know who they are." He was obviously referring to the before mentioned disturbances.

Leena nodded. "A test for the children, as well as my spies." She laughed. "It'll be loud once the men figure it out." She smiled. "what do you think of my pupils?"

"Impressive." He watched the women running from shadow to shadow staying easily concealed to the untrained eye. "Fast, silent, and I'm assuming they're deadly." Bain lost sight of most of them as the moon was covered by clouds. "What is their objective?" He asked curious.

Leena smiled. "Humiliating the boys. After this they should stop fighting their training and lowering their guards." She heard a soft tinkle as a bell was jostled and sighed. "Kaylie'' she turned to bain. "They've stole'n through the camp, located and marked the officer's tents, and locked the head cook in the stockaids." She laughed. ''And whatever fun they choose to add.''

"Keeping your soldiers on their toes." Bain nodded his head while scratching at his chin. The tinkling of a bell caught his ear. "Is that one of the spies, or is it just a signal?"

"Kaylie's young." She sighed. "She still values speed over stealth." Leena leaned against a pole. "That's always wrong, but beings this mission is stealth based and there's no need fore hast, her excitement works against her." She smiled. "You'd like this group. Since your such a friend to john." She turned to him. "Human spies are quieter. Calgors always want to depend on their elements."

Bain nodded in agreement with Leena's last words. "I would be hard pressed to fight without the use of my abilities. I can't remember the last time I did so." Bain turned to fully face her. "Do tell me why my friendship with John deals with this group of yours in anyway?" He smirked playing with the woman.

"oh, just the fact that your relationship with the human proves that unlike most you won't reject the idea of human fighters." Leena shook her head. "The children have had to prove themselves much more often than needed. It waists time.''

"Humans are weaker then us, they break quickly, they bleed more easily." Bain repeated the words his father used when describing humans. The man hated them. He clenched his fist at the memory of the man but quickly calmed his mind. "But they are very inventive... Some of the things I've seen humans create are marvelous. And then you have men like John. Kind good-hearted man, always willing to help somebody in need. Might have a hard time controlling his anger, and holds a little resentment to fire calgors but otherwise a very decent person. If your 'children' our half as decent as John I'm sure we'll get along."

Leena laughed."sometimes I wonder ifit's us calgors whom are far more fragile." She smiled. "My little human children have taken more pain, ridicule, and hatred than some of our kind will ever imagin. And they do so silently and with eyes clear of doubt and breeming with determination." She stared off into the distance. "it's the reason I accepted john. The eyes." She sighed and looked bain in the eye. "you can see the universe through such eyes. They posses a clarity and confidence, extremely rare in a calgor." She smiled sadly. "We're too prone towards pride, supiriorty and corruption."

"Well I would like to see a demonstration from these children of yours." Bain smirked looked into the shadows trying to find them. "You speak so highly of them I would love to see them in action."

"Maybe if you ask nicely they'll take you along?" She teased. "Though the girls tend to pick up my cruel streak." Her smile was a mean one. "I hide it better."

"I would most definitely like to see your girls in action, but it is late and I wish for sleep." Bain walked down to John's tent. "It's been a pleasure commander. If you need of me I'll be resting."

Leena nodded without looking his way and continued to watch the shadows flash as the girls went about their business.
