Kyoto huffed as she looked out the window of the living room. Where was Uncle Vapor? Shouldn't he be home by now? He'd said he'd had business, but the date he had said he'd return had passed two days ago...
Worry settled in the young girl's heart as she stared out the window. A storm was approaching from the mountain ranges and she hoped her Uncle returned soon. She'd go out and search for him, but he had made it clear not to stray too far from home. Seriously, he worried way too much.

Eve stood on the shore of Kevser Lake as a storm was quickly approaching behind her and Vapor. "Vapor how are we going to get across?" She asked slightly annoyed at him. "I know you can use your... water magic or whatever to get across, but I'm still just a human." She could hear the sound of distant thunder behind them. "I need a boat to get across."

"Here comes our ride now," he said with a grin. A boat, moving on it's own headed their way before docking at the shore. It was for his niece Kyoto to get across the lake on her own when she needed to go shopping in Seaway City. Though she usually didn't go on her own. "This'll get us across."
He entered the boat carefully before reaching out a hand to Eve.
Kyoto perked up as she watched the boat they used to get to and from the island take off on it's own. That must be Uncle Vapor's doing. She smiled brightly at the idea of him returning, and went to the front door throwing it open instantly. There was a gust of wind as the storm, though still far away, was unsettling the atmosphere. She didn't care though, her Uncle would be here soon and that was all that mattered.

Eve grabbed a hold of his hand and got in the boat. "My what a gentlemen and to a human no less, how scandalous." Eve laughed at her own teasing as she settled on the boat. "So how far into the lake is the island?" She asked over a sudden gust of wind. "I imagine it isn't very far, but I hope this thing can move." The sound thunder rolled over the water, this time closer. "That storm is coming in fast."

"My mother taught me right," he said with a grin. At her comment about how far away, he pointed. Just off in the distance was the island. "It won't take any time at all."
With that the boat took off on it's own. Or rather Vapor was causing the water to move the boat towards the island. The storm was fast approaching, but he was sure they'd arrive before the water turned violent.
Kyoto could see in the distance the boat returning. She was a bit surprised to see two figures in the boat.

A torrent of rain began to fall on the two as the ship docked with the island. "Your Mother most certainly did." Eve did her best to protect herself from the rain as she jumped off the side and landed on the beach. She scanned the island and saw a child standing in the doorway into a small house. "I'm guessing that's your niece!" She yelled over the rain. "She's a cute one, I imagine she'll grow up to be a beautiful woman!"

He'd been hoping to make it before the downpour, but still he didn't mind such weather. It made him feel unbelievably alive. He looked as well and saw Kyoto standing at the doorway a big smile on her face. She ran out into the rain and ushered the two inside.
"Where have you been?" she asked, once they were inside. Vapor crouched and rested his hand on her head.
"There was something I needed to check into."
She gave him a skeptical look before noting his condition. "Looks like you did more than check. Are you okay?"
"Fit as a fiddle! You know me, I'm really strong." Her face lit up and she gave him a hug before turning to Eve.
"Hello, my name is Kyoto and you are?"

Eve gave a smile at the two as they embraced. The little one turned to her and asked for her name. "My name is Eve, nice to meet you Kyoto." She held out her hand for Kyoto to shake. "I bet it stinks not having any girls around here, I hope we'll get along." She smiled sweetly at the child.

"Nice to meet you too Miss Eve! Oh, I bet we'll have tons of fun!" she said beaming warmly. She glanced out the window, noting how the rain was beating down still. She wanted to run out and play in it for a bit but decided not to. They had a guest after all!
Vapor sat down in a nearby chair and winced slightly when he moved wrong.
"Do you need me to heal you Uncle Vapor?" the little girl asked, walking over to him. He shook his head but she still looked at him skeptically. "I know I'm not perfect at it, but it might help a little."

Eve laughed quietly taking a seat across from Vapor. "Ah come on Vapor let the kid help." She took her sword and set it down leaning on the wall to the side of her. "You know what they say practice makes perfect." Thunder boomed outside the window to her left, and it shook the house. "That sounded really close." The light inside the house began to darken as the sunlight began to fade behind the cover of the dark clouds. "Do you have any candles.... we might need to light this place up soon."

Vapor nodded his head and Kyoto's face lit up.
"Alright!" Placing her hands on his ribs. A faint light illuminated her hands. Vapor's face seemed to relax a bit more and he sighed.
"Thank you, Kyoto."
"No problem!" she chirped before jumping slightly at the loud clap of thunder. At the mention of candles the girl's face lit up. "Even better!"
She ran towards the stairs before heading up them. There were a few thumping noises before the girl returned down the stairs, jars in her arms. Inside the jars were little gems. Quickly she sat them in several locations around the house before tapping each of them. The response was almost immediate as the gems began to glow rather brilliantly.

Eve leaned close to Vapor. "Hey Vapor what was that just now? I've never seen a Calgor do anything like that before." Thunder shook the house once again. "When she asked if she could heal you I imagined with like a first aid kit not something so....." Eve paused searching for the right word. "Magical I guess you could say."

This was a dangerous topic and he wasn't entirely sure he could trust outsiders, but he relented after a bit more thought. She already knew something was up and there was no point and trying to deny it. "Kyoto's father was a human, but he was a strange one. According to Mist, my sister and Kyoto's mother, he came from an ancient line of humans that could use magic."
Kyoto suddenly popped up in between the two. "Yup! Papa could use magic, but it can make you really sick if you aren't careful! The only reason I'm doing so well is because I'm part Calgor, or at least that's the theory. I still gotta be careful, but I also really want to learn to control it and help other people."

Eve jumped as Kyoto jumped between the two. "Geeze Kyoto you nearly gave me a heart attack, you're quieter then a church mouse." The gems easily illuminated the house. "Wow." Eve was mesmerized by the glow from the gems. "These are beautiful..... where did you get these?" She picked up one of the jar's looking at the crystal. "This land is just full of surprises isn't it?" Eve asked no one in particular.

"Sorry!" the girl said before slipping back to where she was. At the mention of where she got them the girl grinned brightly. "You can find them near little cave openings around the shore. They're really abundant in the mines and typically they're a lot brighter when they come from there."
