Mijo listened as the door shut and let out a silent sigh. For a moment she thought they would be discovered.

Rein slid the dried apricots down into her basket, which was getting rather heavy. She'd already picked up her new dress as well as several books for Kei to read while he was recovering. Secretly she hoped he'd read some aloud for her as well... The last thing on her to do list was to pick up her medical herb tea for Kei. She'd dropped by earlier to order it.
Rein was just a few doors down from the shop when she heard the streingest tune. A shop clerk was showing music boxes. Rein made her way towards the sound as if mesmerized. Once she found the sorce of the odd tune she decided she must know what it was.
"Excuse me?" She called, having not heard any one near. A rumbling cough came from further back in the shop. "I'm sorry, but I'd like to ask about this music?" She was confused at the voice that answered. She'd never heard it before.
"It's a treasure that one is." Came the elderly female voice. "It's a jewle encrusted, wish box." She told Rein. "That 'song' actually an ancient lulaby." The woman started to hum the tune and once it started over began to sing it.
"You've been wishing on stars That I could be where you are Love will dry all your tears Cause I'm already here
When you're sleeping You can reach me
So close your eyes Rest your head Dream of me when you're in bed Kiss me, sway, say good night I'll sing you a lullaby"
The old woman stopped once she noticed Rein's tears. She smiled. "It's nothing to cry about, my pet."
Rein smiled as she whipped a tear from her cheek. "Could you tell me the rest?" She asked in a whisper. She'd been totaly mesmerized by the lullaby. though it made her weep for the mother she'd always wished for. The old woman smiled as she started to sing the rest of the song.
"In the morning, when you wake I'll be gone with yesterday All day long, you wonder why You'll sing in a lullaby
Just say the word When you need me to hold you Whenever you're hurt I'm here to console you
Love you still the sunrise comes Passing stars you're wishing on Please go steeper, we should dream of
So close your eyes Rest your head Dream of me when you're in bed Kiss me, sway, say good night I'll sing you a lullaby
In the morning, when you wake I'll be gone with yesterday All day long, you wonder why You'll sing in a lullaby"
The old lady hummed softly as the song ended and then lifted the box and placed it in Rein's basket. She tried to protest, but the woman put a hand to Rein's lips and said no. The old woman silently paid the shop keeper and left.
Rein was too surprized to speek as the shop keeper began to laugh. "Never seen no one buy back sum'n dey jus sold." He chuckled as he sat back down behind his counter. Rein said nothing as she turned around and after getting Kei's medicen started back home.
OOC: I love these lyrics! but not so much the song... so I made up my own tune to it... it's a lot softer and pretty! ;}

OOC: ;~; The lyrics are pretty sweet.
IC:
Mijo's ear twitched as she thought she heard something again. Looking back at Kei the little creiel jumped down, padding softly over to the door, and pressing one of her large ears against it.

Rein greeted Bridget as she entered via the rear enterance. She gave bridget the herbs and asked her to make a tea for her. She lied and told her it was a relaxing tea... Rein hummed her new lullaby softly to herself as she walked up the stairs and entered her room.
After layng out her new dress she collected a needle and thred and began to attach the cutom tag that told her what it looked like. She wined up the music box and opened the lid so it would sing. Rein sung softly along with the music, She was a beautiful singer but didn't like others to hear.

Mijo's ears twitched and her eyes closed as she listened to the melody.
"Chi...chi...chi, chi..." she hummed softly, enjoying the sound.

OOC: don't really know how to reply to that... but whatevs
IC: Rein smiled as the song finished. She put away her things and folded her dress. She took out Her new books and Bot the presents she'd bought. Bridget would be up soon with Kei's tea so she decided to rouse him. She stepped up to the door and rapped lightly. "Kei?" She wispered. "Mijo? are either of you up?" She gently opened the door a bit to listen for them.

OOC: You replied just fine :I
Mijo poked her little nose through the crack and glanced up at Rein. She wanted master awake? Well, alright. Backing away from the door the little creiel headed towards the sleeping form of her master. Jumping up she landed on his chest, pawing at his nose.
Kei's eyes sluggishly opened. "Morning?"
She shook her head and pointed towards the door.
"Oh, Miss Rein, did you need something?" he asked, keeping his voice low just in case.

Rein giggled slightly. "Sorry for waking you. Your medicen will be ready in a sec." She smiled as a knock on the door confirmed it. Just leave it there!" She called to Bridget and nodded to Kei "Get in here and take your medicen. Oh, and I got you a present!" She was obviously excited and couldn't wait to give it to him. "You too Mijo." with that Rein skipped back into her room, hiding the gifts behind her back.

Kei smiled softly and walked into the room, using the wall to brace himself. He absolutely hated being this weak and hadn't been reduced to such a state in a long while.
"A present? he asked, getting a bit flustered. She'd saved his life, that was certainly enough for him, he didn't need a gift of any sort. Mijo hopped towards Rein delighted that she'd been included too.

Rein giggled as she heard them enter the room. She smiled as she held out the book. It was a rare book on the history of the first Calgorian war. She'd always anted to read it... It'd a set of four and had set in that little store for ages. No one here ever wanted to learn about Calgors. She held it out, offering it to Kei. She used her other hand to lower the bowl, she'd poured Mijo's dried fuit into. She really hoped she'd like the treat.

Kei looked at the book. His face lighting up as he saw the subject. Could it be...?
"How on Earth did you get something like this?" he asked softly, awed.
Mijo chirped happily before eating some of the dried fruit in the bowl a delighted smile on her muzzle.

She beamed, overjoyed her gifts were appreciated. "You like it?" She clapped her hands and laughed. "The woman that runs the book store, we're good friends, her name's molly and I call her 'ol mol. She sometimes reads to me and tells me fairy tales about Falmour. She's never been herself but she's read more than anyone ever." Rein was nearly bouncing in her excitement as her words ran away without her again. "She read me some of the introduction. I cant believe they could go to war for so long. You know they say that they still don't get along with each other even now." She gasped as she realized she was talking to much yet again. "Sorry." she mumbled, blushing brilliantly.

"I-I love it," he said, his voice hardly able to go above a whisper he was so taken aback. He made a noise in agreement, it was strange that they still didn't get along with one another, but he supposed he could understand. Sometimes humans like them had a hard time getting along with one another. His head snapped up and a gentle smile crossed his face. "There's no need t-to apologize. T-Thank you...this gift is greatly a-appreciated, but...are y-you sure?"
It was a rare text and he wasn't entirely sure he should be the one to take it.
Mijo let out a chipper yip as she finished off her dried fruit. It had certainly been tasty!

Rein's smile remained strong but seemed to grow sad as he asked if she was sure. "Daddy hates the Calgors." She explained. "And he would not be kind if he caught me with it. I bought it from 'ol moll ages ago even though I cannot read... and I would never get the servants in trouble by having them read that to me." She laughed. "But you love them too!" Her smile filled with joy again; the emotion never far from her reach. "So I know you'll care for it. It won't rot away and it will be loved like it should!" She sounded so sure; as if she'd known him forever.
OOC: y'know i think Rein's overly trusting nature could be dangerous...

Kei was saddened to find that her father didn't share her fascination and it shocked him even more to find that he in fact hated them. How could you hate people who were so fascinating? He nodded his head at her comments even though he knew she wouldn't be able to see the motion. Still old habits die hard. "I'll t-take the utmost c-care of it, I-I promise."
Blushing furiously he came to another thought. "Y-you said y-you've only h-heard some of the i-introduction? Perhaps I c-could read a b-bit more. I w-won't have e-enough t-time to read y-you the w-whole book, I s-should really b-be on my way b-before I-I get y-you into t-trouble, but m-maybe...maybe o-one day I could r-read to you the w-whole book? P-Promise n-not to s-stutter."
Mijo patted her master on the leg in comfort as she let out a sheepish 'chi'. Oh master...you really need to work on that...
OOC: Indeed, but at least Kei is as harmless as a fly, though she really should watch that.
